EBT cards distributed to Nye families

Hello NCSD and RCMS parents and guardians. Great news! Please check your mail because you may have already received an envelope in the mail that says EBT. If you have not received it, please keep a lookout for it. Do not throw this away!

P-EBT is a provision of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020, that gives a one-time disbursement of $296.00 to purchase food for each NCSD child who lost access to free school meals under the National School Lunch Program due to COVID-19 school closures during March, April, or May 2020. P-EBT benefits can be used to buy food at all stores that accept EBT.

Every single student enrolled in NCSD, except for Warm Springs and Duckwater. during March, April, and May is eligible to receive this benefit due to the fact that all Nye Schools are CEP,

For households currently receiving SNAP and/or TANF benefits, the P-EBT benefit will automatically be deposited on the household’s existing EBT card, by early September. For households not currently receiving SNAP and/or TANF benefits, a P-EBT card will be issued by the EBT processor in the name of the individual who enrolled the eligible child/children in school.

The card, along with an informational flyer, will be or may have already been mailed to the address on file with the school. Cards should be received no later than the end of September. So, please look for this card or for your deposit. We ask that you spread the word to other parents so this disbursement is not lost or forgotten as it contains much-needed funds for food. Thank you.
