RCMS Math Students

May 6, 2021

 Dear RCMS students, parents/guardians,

Beginning Monday, May 10, 2021, we will be giving students the NWEA test in class. As a math department, we are testing our students to help place students in math classes for the 2021-2022 school year. We will also be using test data to help improve our math program here at RCMS. If a student is a 2 or 4-day hybrid student, he/she just needs to attend school like normal. No other special arrangements need to be made.

If your student is fully virtual and would like to participate in the testing, he/she may do so, but you must bring your student on to campus, Friday, May 14, 2021, to complete the NWEA test.  Please arrive at the school office between 8:00-8:15 AM. After checking in at the office, students (with required masks) will proceed directly to their regular math classroom. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 AM and last for about an hour to an hour and a half. Students should be done testing between 10:00 -10:15 AM. They will need to be picked up at the office entrance when they are finished testing. The students will text you or call you when he/she has completed the test.

Please be aware that while this testing on Friday is optional, it will be used for possible placement in classes next year. Students do not have the option to take this test at home. If your student is going to come on Friday to test, please RSVP with your current math teacher no later than noon on Thursday, May 13, 2021. We need to give the office a list of students to expect on Friday so they are aware of your plans.

There is no other test date available due to the end of the school year.

Thank you for your support of all our students and the math program here at RCMS. Have a wonderful summer and a much deserved break.

 Sincerely,

The RCMS Math Teachers
